I am gradually working toward being able to offer sliding scale and low-cost art psychotherapy. While I am growing my practice, my rates for individual & group therapy and workshops are below.
Initial 30-minute consultations are always complimentary.
Discovery session
If this is your first session booking with Āio Art Therapy, please book a Discovery session first.
Discovery sessions are psychotherapy sessions whereby we explore your goals, needs and anything else you may want me to know before we begin our work together.
This pricing is for online, in-person and eco-art therapy sessions. Please note that as of June 2024, all psychotherapy services are tax-free, so the below rates are all-inclusive. No HST will be charged.

Group therapy
Group rates are per person, based on a minimum of 4 participants per group. Groups can be “open” or “closed”, are 90-120 minutes in length, and run for a minimum of 8 weeks. Please note that as of June 2024, all psychotherapy services are tax-free; HST will only be charged for “open” groups.

Workshops
Workshops include standalone gatherings that are art-based and/or psychoeducational in nature. Workshops range from 60, 90, and 120 minutes.

Practical Details
Transparency
Āio Art Therapy’s rates for sessions and workshops cover costs incurred to operate the practice, including the professional development required by my regulator (CRPO), liability insurance, licensing fees, associative memberships, space rentals, art materials and other essential business costs such as website hosting and electronic record management fees.
While current pricing ensures basic costs are met, I am committed to building a sliding scale rate structure that ensures affordable therapy is available wherever needed. In the meantime, if you have any questions about pricing or affordable therapy, please don’t hesitate to ask!
Insurance
Āio Art Therapy is a member of the CRPO, so your services may be covered if you have an extended medical plan or extended health benefits that include Registered Psychotherapists (qualifying). Unfortunately, psychotherapy is not a service covered by OHIP.
Following payment of your session, you will receive a receipt you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
Cancellation Policy
If you’re unable to attend a session, I ask that you give 24-hrs notice. Missed appointments and appointments that are cancelled with less than 24-hrs notice are charged the full session fee.
Payment Policy
Pricing for 1:1 art psychotherapy sessions (in-person, online or eco-therapy) are as follows:
Discovery Session: $150
60mins: $140
90mins: $175
120mins: $205
All psychotherapy sessions are HST-exempt.
Upon scheduling a session online, you will be asked to provide a credit card. You will not be charged until after your session (with your permission), or in the event that there is a late cancellation/missed session, as per the cancellation policy.
You are also welcome to pay using other methods, including cash or Interac e-transfer. Such payment is accepted virtually after the session. If payment is not received within 10 days, your credit card may be charged.
Following payment, you will receive a receipt that you can submit, if applicable, to your insurance company.
Please note that consistently unpaid invoices for services rendered may result in said therapeutic services being discontinued until outstanding invoices are reconciled.
*If providing a credit card is a barrier for you, email admin@aioarttherapy.com and we’ll figure out an alternative that is comfortable for you.
